Visit Delft! - Assignment 2

The Second Assignment for the course VCD seeks to create an informative tools for tourists that visit Delft. In this section of our blog, we present the first concepts for Assignment Nr. 2 and the ideas we have about guiding tourists in the city of Delft. Here is a short video. Enjoy!

The next step of the Assignment was to build the map of the highlights of the city. With this input, the team now just has to sit and discuss different ideas for the concept of the new billboard for Delft Station.

    Both of your concepts distinguish the route by using the strategies of shadow contrast and bold text, but it is good to see each of them lays a special emphasis.

    For Concept1, the different colors(orange and yellow) between the 2 versions tell different routes. It is more obvious than Concept 2, which mainly uses the shadow contrast. Especially in concept1 ,there is a line, which gradually changes, indicating the different directions. It is really a good way to guide visitors to different directions.

    Although Concept 2 is subtle, it is not such clear enough to tell different directions to visitors. However, you can also test it. If visitor can tell the different between the two version of Concept 2. It is also a good way to use as less strategies as possible.

    We suggest you to use that gradually changing line to tell different directions no matter which concept you choose. It is a smart line!!
