NEW CONCEPTS

On Friday March 22 the team got together in order to discuss different concepts that had been elaborated after the presentation. Three concepts were discussed.

Concept 1

Basically, the concept uses fading in and out of lines in order to indicate direction. In addition, high color contrast (yellow-black) is used to guide the visitor into the right direction.

Concept 2

The concept shows museums and shops with an icon. It also adds different shades of gray in order to indicate walking direction. In addition, it uses pop out to highlight the icons.

Concept 3

This concept is based on street names; it seeks to provide more information to the visitors. The size variation of the first letter of each street as well as the text direction gives the idea of which way to walk.

  1. In my opinion, the second concept is the best one though it is similar with the first concept. The fist one uses lines which makes the ciricle not continuous. While the second one has a more stronger effect on indicating routes with different gray shades.
Further, the text of last one is not easy to read. Maybe images of the palce better.

  2. Very nice three ideas!

The first one looks nice, but we wonder how does high color contrast (yellow-black) guide to the right direction. Actually the fading in and fading out are already able to tell the sequence of the left or the right...so we are little bit confused about the meaning of the yellow-black.

The second one, it shows that the shopping spots are in the centre, so a question pops out in our mind: how does the shadow in the right side relate to the shopping spots in the centre (only because of the shadow?). In other words, why the shopping icons are placed in the middle?

Actually, the third one is good in both overview and sequence in our opinion. If the third one is on A3 paper, it would be clear enough to read.

    Good Luck!
